I’m not what you call a lifelong Welsh independence supporter. Nor did independence hit me like a thunder bolt, an epiphany on top of some beautiful Welsh mountain…
For me, independence is basically the result of a slow erosion. A degradation of trust, of confidence, viability, cohesion, respect, equality-I could go on & on but ultimately, when I think of a future Wales as part of the union, I feel an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. Especially when I think about my children. The Wales I want for them is simply not possible if we continue to be at best an afterthought, or at worst completely ignored. To that end, when all has been proven to be lost, I personally believe it’s time we were in control of our own destiny.
