Ni yw’r wlad dlotaf yng ngorllewin Ewrop, ac un o’r prif resymau am hynny yw ein bod ni wedi bod o dan fawd ein gwladychwr cyhyd. Wrth gwrs bod llywodraeth Lloegr yn rhoi buddion y wlad o flaen ein ffyniant ni. Mae hynny’n hollol naturiol. Dyna pam mae ein dyfodol yn ddibynnol ar dorri’n rhydd. Mae’r bobl yn dechrau dihuno, ond mae heriau lu yn ein hwynebu. Un o’r rhwystrau mwyaf yw darbwyllo ein hunain bod annibyniaeth yn bosib. Rwy’n credu yng Nghymru ac rwy’n credu ym mhobl Cymru. Ni ddylai fod yn llywio ein dyfodol, nid y wlad drws nesaf. Dylai pob penderfyniad am Gymru gael ei wneud yng Nghymru, mae mor syml a hynny a dweud y gwir.”
“I support Welsh independence because it is absolutely clear now that Westminster doesn’t care about us at all. I’ve always had my doubts, but there’s no avoiding the fact today. At best, Wales is an afterthought. At worse, we’re a joke to them. To quote the actor, Peter Mullan, “I want neighbours, not masters”. We are the poorest country in western Europe, and one of the main reasons for this is that we’ve been under our colonizer’s thumb for so long. Of course the English government prioritises its own interests ahead of ours. That’s completely natural. But that’s also why our future prosperity depends on breaking free. The people are starting to wake up, but the way ahead is full of challenges. One of the main obstacles is persuading ourselves that independence is possible. I believe in Wales and I believe in us, the people of Wales. We should be the keepers of our own destiny, not our next door neighbours. All decisions that affect Wales should be made in Wales, it’s as simple as that really.”
