Mae annibyniaeth i Gymru yn gyfle i ail-strwythuro ein cymdeithas yn gyfan gwbwl. Am gwir annibyniaeth allwn ni ddim dewis creu gwladwriaeth a fydd yn gopi o’r hyn sydd wedi ein coloneiddio ni a hanner y byd – rhaid i ni ddychmygu cymdeithas sydd yn cylchgroi o amgylch anghenion ein plant a phobl ifanc.
Mae pobloedd ar draws y byd wedi trio newid eu cymdeithasau gan symyd i ffwrdd o’r paradeim cyfalafol sawl tro. Allwn ni edrych at democrotiaeth cydffederal yn Rojava am un enrhaifft o hyn sydd yn gweithio heddiw o dan amgylchiadau anhygoel o anodd. Gall annibyniaeth roi ddyfodol i gymunedau yng nghymru sydd mewn cawell o dloti, trawma ac anobaith – ond dimond os ydyn ni’n gwthio’r ffiniau a ddim yn bodloni ar annibyniaeth arwynebol.
Independence for Wales is an opportunity to restructure our society as a whole. For true independence we cannot choose to create a state that is a replica of what has colonized us and half the world – we must imagine a society that revolves around the needs of our children and young people.
People all over the world have tried to change their societies by shifting away from the capitalist paradigm several times. We can look to the confederate democracy in Rojava as one example that works today in extremely difficult circumstances. Independence can provide a future for communities in Wales that are in a cage of poverty, trauma and despair – but only if we push the boundaries and not settle for superficial independence.
